We are looking for a Junior Underwriter, Energy and Construction
- based London.

Our risk consulting, claims and underwriting teams have many years of practical experience of leading the largest engineering risks and construction projects across the globe, covering a wide range of engineering classes, including oil and gas, power and utilities, heavy industries, transportation systems and heavy civil engineering projects.

**The Impact You Will Have**
Based in London and reporting to the Senior Underwriter for Energy & Construction for Region Unit London (UK and Nordics), you will independently prepare underwriting processes and liaise with other functions to ensure timely and accurate policy administration. Rotating between the onshore, offshore and construction teams’ this is an ideal role for someone with knowledge of the Corporate Insurance sector, to develop their understanding of Underwriting in the Energy & Construction Line of Business.

**Some of your specific responsibilities could include**
- Support underwriting of new and renewal accounts, preparing all documentation and completion of underwriting tools
- Proactively prepare relevant underwriting information including client / market research and claims data
- Handle document management for the team
- Ensure that all systems are updated accurately and in a timely fashion
- Conduct analyses of the portfolio data, to support strategic decisions for the Energy & Construction team
- Assist in the coordination of Natural Catastrophe reporting
- Ensure Underwriting compliance in line with the governance framework eg. Underwriting Authorities, global MSU and Underwriting Guidelines
- Assist in ensuring contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception
- Assist in ensuring binding of FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception
- Liaise with other functions e.g. Operations, Credit Control, ARC and Claims
- Develop and maintain peer relationships with brokers, clients and the Underwriting teams in the Region and CUO

**What You’ll Bring to the Role**
- You have a sound understanding of the policy administration life cycle, information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings and credit control
- Progress towards professional insurance qualification preferred
- You have excellent communication skills, at ease working with colleagues at every level in the organisation, internationally
- You have commercial acumen and enjoy building and maintaining relationships with external contacts such as brokers and clients
- Analytical skills and highly numerate
- You are proficient in MS Office (advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and able to learn new systems quickly and efficiently
- You embrace agile working and engage in constant learning, to adapt to internal and external customer needs
- Fluent English language skills
