**Full Time Position**
We have partnered with a growing business who work with fantastic renewable energy co-operatives around the UK to ensure they run effectively, providing professional financial support services.
They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their Operations Team based in Shrewsbury who will be supporting community energy volunteers from around the country, from Somerset to Shetland.
**Responsibilities**:
- Logging purchase invoices on bookkeeping software following agreed procedure.
- Quality control and population of invoice narratives where auto-generated.
- Logging expense claims - checking receipts, backing data and claims are authorised before payment.
- Data input for self-billed invoices and checking supporting data agrees.
- Raising invoices where a self-billing agreement is not in place.
- Following up on aged debtor items in line with protocols and procedures.
- Raise and follow up queries on invoice discrepancies in liaison with supervisor.
- Maintaining appropriate records relating to invoices and credit notes, for evidence to support VAT claims.
- Following up to obtain missing information as requested by supervisor.
- Reconciling client bank transactions.
**Requirements**:
- A good general level of education, including a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
- A good working knowledge of general Office software including MS Excel & Word is essential
- AAT Level 2 or working towards it is desirable but not required
- Experience with Xero, Quickbooks or Sage would be desirable but not required
- Having a conscientious approach to work, an eye for detail, and a commitment to a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise and adapt in response to changing situations.
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential.
