Optical Assistant

**Part time Optical Assistant - What experience do I need?**
- Experience dealing with patients and to have good communicative skills are required - you need to be well presented & friendly, and be flexible to cover shifts at short notice in the event of sickness etc.
- You will be taking phone calls for patients and other professionals within our profession and be diligent when it comes to taking messages and supporting those needs in our busy optical practice.

**What will I be expected to do?**
- Answer calls in a friendly and professional manner
- The ability to multi task - performing several tasks at the same time
- Knowledge of composing letters for referral purposes - word, PDF’s etc
- Assist with frame selection, spectacle fitting and adjustments,
- Keeping patient’s records up to date
- Filing and ability to spell is essential
- General admin duties for the practice
- Handling incoming post, deliveries and using Royal Mail Click and drop.
- Locking and securing the building at the end of the day.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £9.50-£11.00 per hour

PPE is used, requirement to wear a face mask while on duty, hand sanitizer and/or gloves are available. Scrubs have been introduced during this Pandemic, plan will be to supply after probation period.
