**Category Manager**

An exciting position has become available for a full-time Category Manager based at The University of Wolverhampton.

This is an exciting opportunity reporting into the Procurement Manager, Agile (Flexible) working is in place and will be discussed on appointment.

The Category Manager will lead Procurement activities for a designated area of goods and services, although must be flexible to work on other Categories as required, and also undertake Procurement of non-category specific areas and externally funded projectsas required by the demands of the department.

**Category Manager Role Responsibilities**
- Experience in a Procurement environment including a good understanding of the Public Contracts Regulations for Public Procurement and a working knowledge of procurement legislation/contract law
- A professional attitude and an ability to communicate positively with a variety of personalities and job roles at all levels

**Category Manager Role Requirements**
- Manage multiple projects from inception to formal award of the tender through to monitoring during the term of the Contract
- Assist the University to achieve value for money through the promotion of best purchasing practices, as well as compliance with internal and external regulations governing procurement activity, providing professional procurement advice as required
