**CNC Turret Punch Operator**

Permanent position, full time

Monday-Thursday 8.30am-5pm, Friday 6am-2pm

From £11.15 per hour

We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to join a busy engineering company in the Lincoln area. We operate in small teams in a clean modern building, making bespoke steel and glass doors to very high standards.

**Job Purpose**

To produce sheet metal parts for manufacturing steel doors.

**Job Outline**

Working from a door specification sheet, you will set the main parameters in a specialist programme which draws sheet metal parts in an AutoCAD file. Though the whole process is mostly automated, at times you will edit some parts manually in AutoCAD.

**The duties of CNC Turret Punch Operator include**:

- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and design models
- Loading raw materials into the CNC machine
- Inputting the product design into the computer modelling software
- Choosing and loading the correct tools for the job
- Adjusting machine settings to the desired product specifications
- Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process
- Cleaning and maintaining the machine
- Previous CNC machine operation or programming
- Experience in interpreting technical drawings
- General computer skills
- Some AutoCAD experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logístical problems
- Ability to work independently and closely follow directions
- A positive and professional attitude

**Qualities and Skills required**:

- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
- GCSE grade C and above in Maths & English or equivalent
- To be able to follow instructions and drawings
- Versatile, and willing to learn new skills
- Good manual dexterity
- An eye for detail and quality
- Flexible and reliable
- Hardworking and trustworthy
- Being able to work to deadlines and resolve problems

The above skills or experience are an advantage, though extensive training and support will be given.
