New vacancy located close to Orpington is recruiting a permanent Finance Officer to start as soon as possible. Outstanding SEN School with a strong SLT, Middle Managers and Staff. Pupils who attend school have been diagnosed with varied needs such as Speech Difficulties, Complex Needs, ASD, Moderate to Severe Leaning Difficulties and are from Primary to post-16 ages. Due to expansion within the school, this exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Finance Officer. In this Finance Officer post you would be working for a well established SEN School that would like to recruit a Monday to Friday, 36 hours a week postand will be an all year position. The successful Finance Officer must either be in a similar position or an experienced Financial Controller. Ideally you will have worked in a school setting but the client would potentially look outside of the industry. Youwill be performing operational finance requirements under the finance policy and schemes of delegation that has been set by them. In addition, ensuring the accounting standards and school policies are adhered to. In your current role you will be ensuring themonthly Finance processes are completed by set deadlines and in a fast paced environment. The successful Finance Officer must have experience in the following: - Either a Finance Officer or experienced Finance Controller due to "step up" into a Finance Officer role - in processing all invoices for suppliers within school finance guidelines policy - Making sure weekly BACs payments are made to their suppliers - All invoices must be issues to the relevant bodies or council on time - Reconciling bank statements on a monthly basis which should include credit & debit cards. - Raising any spending concerns with the Director - Ensuring monthly VAT claims as a Finance Officer - Liaising with the Director in managing all creditor and debtor balances in no more than 30 days - Issuing petty cash if required - Line managing finance staff
