The College of Life and Environmental Sciences brings together the excellent teaching and research of Biosciences, Geography, Psychology and Sport and Health Sciences. Sport and Health Sciences is one of the top departments in the UK and was ranked 13th in the Global University rankings for Sports Science in 2021.

The University's collegiate system, including the College of Medicine and Health with whom we are co-located on the beautiful St Luke’s campus, facilitates a truly interdisciplinary approach to academic innovation, research and learning.

We are seeking to appoint a new Lecturer / SL in Biomechanics to support the continued development and management of our range of academic programmes, and to further strengthen our activities in Sport and Health Sciences. The appointed person will be an innovative academic, who is committed to delivering the highest quality research and education.

**The role**

The post of Lecturer / SL in Biomechanics will contribute to extending the research profile of Sport and Health Sciences at Exeter.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics; a strong record in attracting research funding, or demonstrable potential to attract such funding; teamwork skills to work in collaboration with existing group members; an active and supportive approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research that will help to foster interactions and links both within the University and externally with business and industry; the attitude and ability to engage in continuous professional development; the aptitude to develop familiarity with a variety of strategies to promote and assess learning; and enthusiasm for delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

For appointment at Senior Lecturer level, in addition to the above applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong potential for research leadership with a track record in refereed publications, proven success in significant grant capture and relationships with external organisations and funders. Previous industrial experience is also welcomed.
