Cleaner - Veterinary Clinic (12.5 Hours Per Week)

A cleaner is an essential role within our team, ensuring that our clinic maintains a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for all our patients, clients, and employees. We are seeking a cleaner that is dedicated and detail-oriented, with a passion for animal care and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.

**The Role**:
This role is located at our Newton Aycliffe Branch.

The role available is permanent part-time basis at 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Either 6am-8.30am each day or 6.30pm-9pm each day).

**Daily Duties**:

- Thoroughly clean and disinfect all areas of the clinic e.g., consults rooms, prep area, surgical suites, waiting areas, toilets and break rooms.
- Perform a range of cleaning duties e.g., wiping and sanitising surfaces, sweeping, mopping, hoovering, dusting, emptying bins etc.
- Wipe down and disinfect all bench tops, tables and surfaces, and cupboard doors etc.
- Sweep, hoover and mop all floors every day, including skirting boards/trims.
- Wipe down all door handles and light switches on a daily basis to eliminate and control the risk of infection or contamination.
- Clean around all doorframes and clean vision panel windows on a weekly basis.
- Safely dispose of medical waste, following all guidance for hazardous material disposal.
- Restock toiletries in the client and staff toilets e.g., toilet roll, soap, air fresheners, sanitary products etc. Advising the Branch Manager of any order requests.
- Restock kitchen supplies in the break room e.g., washing-up liquid, bleach, sponges, cloths etc. Advising the Branch Manager of any order requests.
- Managing cleaning supplies e.g., disinfectants, bleach, cloths, dusters etc. Advising the Branch Manager of any order requests.
- Clean all practice front windows inside and out on a weekly basis.
- Ensure outside waste area is tidy and contained.
- All cleaning materials will be supplied.

**SITE MANAGEMENT**
- Support the Branch Manager in efficient rota management, ensuring adequate cover with regard to holidays, CPD requests, public holidays, scheduling in-house training and rota amendments due to unforeseen absence, including shift changes where appropriate.

**Health and Safety**
- Ensure full awareness of all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Address any Health and Safety issues noticed or reported as a matter of urgency.
- Work alongside the Company Directors, Branch Manager and HR, to ensure all Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to and all relevant documentation is in date:

- Risk Assessments; these should be read and updated annually. Any additional risk should be noted and added to the risk assessment file.
- Fire Safety; these should be read and updated annually. All fire safety procedures should be checked and updated accordingly.
- Report all accidents or incidents promptly, ensuring the correct process has been followed.
