Prepress Operator

We have an exciting vacancy within our Pre-Press Department for an Operator.

The role involves flexo, litho and digital print operations. There is a close link with production planning, technical development and the production departments so good communication is essential as well as excellent technical skills.

Duties will include:

- Using customer images to prepare sheet layouts for sheet fed/litho production of labels, wraps and cartons. This includes optimising layouts to ensure maximum utilisation of materials and tooling.
- Using the existing CTP system to generate litho plates/cyrels in-line with production requirements
- Preparing and maintaining flexo plates, silk screens, cutters, foilers and embossers for web
- fed production of labels. Ensure plates that are produced in-house or at suppliers are to specification and in-line with production/quality requirements.
- Maintaining files/data on the CTP system including back-ups.
- Liaising with internal and external departments to ensure that materials, information and tooling are in place on-time and kept within budget
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team but also using own initiative
- Ability to work accurately whilst working to tight deadlines
- Experience in Pre-press department (essential)

This role will involve working a rotating treble shift pattern.
