Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Grinders will have the primary function to set and operate multiple CNC grinding machines and manual grinding machines to manufacture components with critical size and surface finish requirements, as per engineering drawing specifications.

British Engines Group company, Rotary Power, specialises in the design, development and manufacture of hydraulic motors and pumps for a range of sectors including construction, mining and agriculture.

Rotary Power is a rapidly growing business operating from manufacturing facilities in South Shields (UK), Bangalore (India), South Dakota (USA) and Aachen (Germany).

Duties
- To inspect components and complete any relevant supporting paperwork
- To deburr, clean and protect components as required
- To carry out daily inspection and cleaning of grinding machines
- To work with a range of materials including cast iron, mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- To be able to use a range of measuring equipment together with working knowledge of inspection procedures to undertake self-inspection
- To work to required quality standards and procedures
- To accurately interpret engineering drawings and work with imperial and metric measures to ensure dimensional accuracy
- To work as part of the grinding team and interface with production supervision, engineering and maintenance team
- To carry out material handling as required to load, unload and manoeuvre materials and finish component
- To operate in-house computer systems for the recording of work activities
- To support training of apprentices and trainees
- To undertake general housekeeping duties within the manufacturing facilities
- To work in a safe manner; driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regard to the company’s health, safety and environmental policies
- To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected

**The person**:
They should also be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and be able to self-inspect using a variety of measuring equipment, together with the ability to work and hold fine tolerances.

Applicants should be highly motivated with good communication skills and be able to work independently, or as part of a team. They must be flexible to work overtime as well as a variety of shifts.

These positions will be on a full time, permanent basis - hours of work will be 37 per week.
