**What you’ll be doing**
The water regulation’s inspector role is responsible for the inspection of plumbing systems of both domestic and non-domestic properties within the Thames Water area, inspections are both reactive and proactive for compliance of the Water supply (water fittings)Regulations 1999. The role also involves the auditing of approved plumbers. This is customer-facing with key external and internal stakeholders.
**We’re looking for you to**:
- Carry out inspections both reactive and proactive contributors to our regulatory targets within our inspection program
- Complete audits of approved plumbers monitoring competency and customer care being delivered by approved members. As well as auditing RPZ valve installations for compliance with the RPZ AIM
- Support the notifications received by the business about plumbing alterations carried out under Regulation 5 of the Water Fittings Regulations; developing and optimizing business processes to improve customer compliance with notification requirements, workingalongside key dependencies such as Wholesale Market Services, Developer Services, etc
- Engage with internal stakeholders (e.g., Production, Network, Developer Services, and delivery partners) to drive improvement in water regulation awareness and competency; influencing relevant levels of management to improve business processes to developgreater assurance of regulatory compliance
- Have a sound working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and internal processes
- Having a broad understanding of operating processes around Water Fittings Regulations within Thames Water would be preferable
- Hold a City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent on the enforcement of the Water supply (water fittings) Regulations 1999 this would be advantageous, but experience only would be considered
- One of the following qualifications or experience would be an advantage
- City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Plumbing or NVQ equivalent
- Advanced City and Guilds certificate in Plumbing or NVQ equivalent
- A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in the plumbing industry
