Supervisor

North Sky Yurts is a yurt and bell tent hire business based in North Leeds providing magical spaces for events that don’t cost the Earth. We have two large yurts for gatherings of up to 95 people and over 70 bell tents used for accommodation for weddings, parties, corporate events and anything in between. We also have three glamping sites where we host private parties.

We’re looking for a Supervisor to join our team for the busy Summer 2025 season. If you love spending loads of time in the great outdoors, working hard and seeing some incredible venues across Yorkshire then this is for you. We’re looking for someone who is confident, organised and professional who can lead a team independently and manage any issues that arise along the way. We are looking for some who uses their initiative and can learn on the job. No experience of erecting tents and yurts is necessary but management experience in the events industry would be an advantage.

In order to apply, you must:

- Have a driving license
- Have your own vehicle to get to and from our unit in Wetherby
- Be able to work flexible hours involving some weekend work
- Be available throughout the summer until the end of September

Our season runs from April 2025 to September 2025.

Hourly rate: £15 per hour

Place Of Work: Deighton Grange Farm, Wetherby, LS22 5HN. Most jobs will start and end here but from time to time, we may start on site.

Hours per week will vary throughout the summer season but you will know working hours in advance. Working days are usually Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays.

**What you’ll be expected to do**:

- Be the point of contact on site for customer queries and complaints
- Coordinate and motivate a team of staff on site and delegate tasks
- Solve any issues on site professionally and efficiently
- Sign off jobs as complete and to the high standards we are known for
- Be able to manually handle heavy and large equipment
- Drive our long wheelbase van to events across Yorkshire and neighbouring counties
- Help to prepare for upcoming events including ensuring all equipment is in good condition and ready to go
- Assist with setting up yurts and bell tents for customer events
- Prepare relevant paperwork related to bookings
- Load and unload the van at our storage unit
- Maintain communication with the Directors when on site
- Assist with training of new team members
- Provide feedback to team members
- Be responsible for the Health and Safety of the team on site

**What we expect you to have**:

- Your own transport and be willing to travel to jobs when needed (usually you will meet at our storage unit and travel in the van)
- Some experience of managing staff
- Previous experience of problem solving and managing time frames
- Awareness of Health and Safety and its importance
- A love of being outdoors in all weathers
- A good level of physical fitness and able to lift heavy equipment
- Good attention to detail and the drive to do a good job
- Experience of dealing with customers and complaint handling
- Flexibility, ability to work weekends and be available to work throughout the whole season
- Eligibility to work in the UK and a form of ID (driving licence or passport)

**What is not mandatory but is preferred**:

- First aid training
- Experience of setting up tents, yurts, tipis or marquees
- Event management experience
