You will be working in highly-motivated and supportive multi-disciplinary teams where there will be opportunities and support for continuing professional development.

Your role will be to liaise with referrers and service users to screen referrals to the CAMHS ASD team and offer to support to families on who are awaiting an ASD assessment. You will respond to calls in to the teams and form part of the CAMHS duty rota.

The post holder will undertake the role of duty clinician and referral coordinator for children/young people with suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or moderate to severe mental health difficulties, working as an autonomous and accountable practitioner within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will screen incoming referrals, offer telephone consultation to professionals and families and be a point of contact for families who are awaiting a specialist ASD assessment. There may be case holder responsibility which will involve the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical intervention with effective liaison with all agencies involved with the service user. The post holder will work collaboratively with young people and their families incorporating the use of outcome measures within their work. The post holder will also offer specialist support, consultation and training to staff within the service and other agencies where appropriate. The post holder will be expected to provide assessment and therapeutic interventions at Tier 3 level and contribute to the ongoing development and provision of services to children and young people.
