Acorn Safety Services is a successful Health, Safety and CDM consultancy. We service all business sectors specialising with construction.
Our services include health and safety consultancy services, CDM consultancy, construction site safety inspections, fire risk assessments and training.
The **Health & Safety Consultant (Construction) **role fits into the operations department of our Northampton office.
Our offices are located in Northampton at, 32 Chartergate, Quarry Park Close, Moulton Park, Northampton, NN3 6QB.

**Key Duties**:
To undertake principal designer duties, as defined by the Construction (Design and Management) regulations 2015 (CDM) and as otherwise required of the role including site visits, preparation of the preconstruction documentation and other associated duties
Responsible for managing your own projects - being the key interface between & liaising with the Client Teams, Design Teams, Principal Contractors, and others to deliver projects in line with the Client's remit, programme
Carrying out thorough reviews of site project information and construction drawings, and identification of design, construction and maintenance risks through Design Risk Reviews
Attending & co-ordinating Design & Project Meetings as required throughout projects (including temporary works review meetings)
Preparing and submitting F10s.
Liaising with teams with regards to design risk management and identifying key hazards.
Visiting project sites prior to construction to carry out initial risk appraisals (where required)
Preparing, co-ordinating and distributing relevant Health & Safety Information to other design & project team members, using company format where required
Overseeing preparation and production of Pre-Construction Information
Preparation of health and safety files.
Assessment and preparation of health and safety plans.
Site Health and Safety inspections
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and be confident in giving presentations in a client facing environment.
Must be confident in working on their own initiative and delivering to deadlines.
**Qualifications**
Be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant H&S / design / engineering discipline, with a NEBOSH certificate as a minimum in H&S, but preferably NEBOSH Diploma and be CMIOSH / CMaPS, or actively working towards it.
**Job Type**: Freelance
**Salary**: Up to £350.00 per day
