**About the role**

You will be an integral part of a small, ambitious team that is looking to grow sustainably but quickly. If you’re passionate about creatively solving business problems, want to build something sustainable and exciting, and want to work with diverse groups of people and skill-sets, we would love to hear from you. The Advisory Services team works across a wide variety of business sectors including, for example, manufacturing and engineering, distribution and transport, housing, higher education, and charities. Whilst you would work on all sectors, we would like this role to have a particular focus on the Higher Education sector as this is a key and growing area for us.

You will be based in the UK within travelling distance of our office in London.

**Day to day responsibilities**
- To build and grow partnerships with University clients in the South, acting as client partner and collaborating across all service areas at Waterstons.
- Keep abreast of emerging HE trends and technologies to deliver our customers the best possible advice, guidance and value.
- Demonstrate and actively promote Waterstons’ culture and values, enabling our vision and strategy to be realised.
- Actively pursue knowledge in the latest consultancy and project management frameworks to ensure best practice, and best quality, project delivery standards.
- Building strong and lasting relationships with clients and helping them succeed.
- To identify new business opportunities, develop proposals, and respond to tenders.

**Some of the skills we are looking for**

**Essential**
- At least 3 years of experience working in a Higher Education setting.
- An understanding of technology issues relevant to the higher education sector.
- A passion for Higher Education and want to use that passion to support our education partners and grow business in this area for Waterstons.
- Excellent analytical, numerical and financial literacy
- The ability to communicate effectively with representatives of organisations at all levels, both individually and when collaborating with a wider team.
- Client-focused, with good listening and negotiating skills.
- A track record of successfully managing programmes and projects.

**Nice to have**
- Experience in strategic planning and strategy implementation within the higher education sector
- Experience in implementing organisational change within the HE sector
- Understanding and experience of learning technologies
- An appreciation of risk management and the ability to translate technology risk for a business audience.
- Good knowledge of commercial agreements and relevant legal contracts.
