Senior UI Designer

TalkTalk is building a first-class product experience for its customers. The Senior UI Designer role is responsible for making key design decisions and ensuring user interactions are consistent, accessible and empowering. You’ll live and breathe UI, leadingthe way forward for the design system. You’ll take the design system to the next level, creating a plan to integrate it across the product teams and hold high standards for all designers within the team. Each day will be different, you may be hands on buildingand designing components one day and facilitating workshops the next. We’re just getting started using Figma, this role requires your hands on skills to build components, test designs and innovate new ideas.

The team

You’ll play a key role in the UX/UI team, working closely with the designers and researchers to build an amazing design capability. As part of the wider Marketing team, you’ll be surrounded by innovative and creative thinkers and great leadership.

Accountability, ownership, authority
- Set the strategy and create a plan for the design system to deliver consistent, accessible, usable UI design.
- Increase the value and utilisation of the design system through continuous. improvement and release management to include content and other interface elements.
- Optimise design components through testing, data and research.
- Manage, maintain and socialise high quality, reusable components usable at all stages and levels of development.
- Proactively, review the digital estate, competitors offering and best practice to drive quality improvements.
- Implement best practice UI tooling, design, development and management.
- Collaborate with the UX team and participate in user research to feed any findings back into the design components and libraries.
- Champion accessibility creating guidelines and auditing outputs to make sure each piece of design hits a minimum AA standard.
- Work with the front-end developers in the digital squads to implement your plans.
- Work with the brand team to the brand into the experience.
- Managing third parties.

We are looking for:

- You have proven experience of UI and experience of creating design systems.
- Track record of delivering components that are consistent, accessible and usable.
- Experience of managing / coaching designers.
- Fluency with design tools including Figma, Sketch etc.
- Experience working with Front End developers to ensure consistent design through to delivery.
- Able to influence stakeholders and manage third parties to achieve desired outcomes.
- Proven experience of agile working, comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic team.
- You are a creative problem solver

- You are motivated, inspired, and deliver high performing, head turning creative
- You work well independently and collaboratively, estimate confidently and manage your time
