We have an exciting opportunity to offer a Cook vacancies across our Family Hubs and Children Centres.
The job role is to support across our 8 sites working in our Café Environment.
The cook’s role entails oversight of the day to day running of our Community Cafés, which provide daily meals in our café’s and also provide a range of healthy meals and snacks for our Nursery Children.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and can run a busy kitchen and serve customers throughout the day. We want someone who has the cooking skills to provide a range of good and healthy meal in our café, while working at pace.
We are looking for a cook that can work at pace and have a high standard of cooking.
We would like someone with a cooking qualification such as a City and Guild Standard Catering Qualification is desirable.
This role is a customer facing role. Therefore, we are looking for someone who has a high level of customer service, as this role is working daily with a wide variety of customers from our diverse communities.
The role involves the planning and preparation of food and ensuring they are providing a full range of healthy meals.
We have a range of kitchens, which provide Halal and none Halal products. We can provide a range of English and Asian foods, which could need to be prepared. Also baking products are provided to our customers regularly.
Over the half term and summer periods we have a very busy delivery of children’s meals and adults meals.
We need to ensure that we are providing cost effective meals with consideration to the rising cost of goods and effective use of products.
Our cooks have to consider their budget and ensure that you met the income targets from the sales of meals in the café is paramount.
As with all food preparation you will need to ensure that you can demonstrate:
- Good food hygiene
- Safe preparation of all elements of food handling
- Demonstrate high standards in the kitchen environment in line with health and safety requirements.
- Can adhere to the Environmental Health regulations.
If you have been a Chef or Cook with good experience, that is self-motivated and can work in a busy kitchen on there own. Also working to a high standard and can provide the above services, then please apply, we would love to hear from you.
