**Job Title**: SIA-Certified Night-Time Security Officer

**Employment Type**: Full-Time/Part-Time (Night Shifts, Every Night)
**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and SIA-certified security professional to provide night-time security and welfare monitoring for occupants in high-risk properties in the Portsmouth area. The role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, particularly those with mental health concerns, as well as managing potential conflicts and assisting with property check-ins and check-outs.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide night-time security by remaining on-site or nearby to monitor properties.
- Conduct regular welfare checks on high-risk individuals and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Respond to incidents such as lockouts, conflicts, or emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
- Maintain daily logs and detailed reports for each individual, including photographs, as required.
- Monitor access to properties and enforce rules to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist with the check-in and check-out process for residents moving into or out of properties.
- Collaborate with property management and external agencies to address resident concerns.
**Skills and Experience**:
- SIA certification (mandatory).
- Proven experience in security or similar roles, particularly involving vulnerable or high-risk individuals.
- Strong understanding of mental health challenges and appropriate responses to sensitive situations.
- Excellent observational and reporting skills, with attention to detail.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate and document incidents.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle conflicts with tact and professionalism.
- Familiarity with basic technology, including smartphones or tablets, for creating reports and sharing updates.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently during night shifts.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- First Aid certification or similar training.
- Previous experience working in housing, social care, or with high-risk individuals.
- Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution.
