**Who we are and what we do**:
The Omega Plastics Group is a plastic injection moulding and tooling business. It comprises two businesses - Omega Plastics and Signal Plastics. We provide high quality plastic injection mould tooling, components, assembly and technical solutions on time and with exceptional customer service.

We assist customers from product conception through the development cycle and into serial production. Our flexibility and value-add approach means we can be a strategic partner to customers and strive to develop long-term relationships.

Omega Plastics operates across four main sectors: industrial and technical, consumer, automotive and medical. We specialise in low to high volume plastic injection moulding using 13 injection moulding presses, ranging from 30 to 330 tonnes. In addition, we integrate plastic mouldings into more complex assemblies which we manage on behalf of our customers. We hold ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications and are based in a 45,000 sq. ft facility on Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead, which is also our group head office.

Our sister company, Signal Plastics, specialises in high volume plastic injection moulding and assembly, with 13 injection moulding presses ranging from 40 to 1,300 tonnes, some with robot demoulding and packing capability. Its customers include some of the biggest names in the automotive and industrial and technical products sectors. It is based in a 43,500 sq. ft facility on Bentall Business Park in Washington.

The group is growing, with a workforce of over 170 colleagues (From 90 in 2019) across both businesses and we continue to invest in our people, infrastructure and facilities. **The role**

Omega Plastics is recruiting a delivery driver to work as part of our Logistics team. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week) based at our Team Valley facility. You will be responsible for delivery of finished products to customers, predominantly across the North East but also to other parts of the UK.

This role will suit someone who enjoys driving and providing excellent customer service in line with our commitment to deliver “on time, right first time”. While you will generally carry out deliveries alone, you will work as part of our team.

We pay £10.43 per hour. Overtime is paid at 1.5 x normal pay. We also offer 23 days annual leave plus the usual bank/public holidays, Company Pension Scheme, Death in Service, Employee Assistance Program, free hot drinks and other benefits.

**Job and Person Specification - Delivery Driver**

**Role Purpose**

Make deliveries of finished goods to customers safely and “on time, right first time”, ensuring delivery vehicles are kept in good condition and complying with requirements for completion and filing of documentation.

**Location**

Team Valley but will attend our Signal Plastics site and deliver to locations around the UK as required

**Working Pattern**

37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, usually 8am to 4pm but some flexibility will be required to meet customer and business needs

**Main duties and responsibilities include**:

- Make deliveries, predominantly around the North East but potentially across the UK, to customers using the company vehicles (3.5t curtain side van and transit van).
- Plan delivery routes (for multiple drops) and complete runs in a timely manner.
- Drive safely, professionally and considerately at all times, complying with all road safety laws and regulations.
- Check loads are correct before loading them (using an FLT) on the vehicle and securing them appropriately for transportation.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety, condition and hygiene checks and complete record logs.
- Obtain signed delivery paperwork from recipients.
- Complete and manage documentation in line with SOPs.
- Where no deliveries are required, carry out warehouse duties including picking or putting away of finished goods, WIP and raw materials.
- Ensure that housekeeping in work areas is at an acceptable standard at all times.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Any other duties not listed above which may reasonably be expected as part of the role.

Essential experience, knowledge and skills include:

- Fork Lift Truck licence.
- Must be able to lift loads of up to 25kg.
- Proof of right to work in the U.K.
- Reliable and have good attendance and punctuality.
- Friendly and professional demeanour with good communication skills.
- Good eyesight and hearing.
- Good attention to detail, for accurate completion of documentation.
- IT/data entry skills - training on systems will be provided.
- Proactive, resilient and flexible with an ability to work under pressure and within time constraints

**Salary**: £6.70-£19.19 per hour
