Kitchen Assistant/cook

**Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen to the highest standard.
- Manage the pot wash area to ensure crockery and utensils are clean and re-stocked.
- Clean down the kitchen at the end of the shift.
- Assist the Chef with basic food preparation for functions and busy day to day service and from time to time, prepare and lead on the delivery of basic menu items.
- Comply with food handling and hygiene standards.
- Flexible to assist in other departments and cover days off when required.
**Requirements**.
- Qualified to Food Hygiene Level 2 (preferred but not essential, as training can be given).
- Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A strong interest or previous experience in catering.
- A team player with a good sense of humour.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: £8.20-£12.30 per hour
