**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Machine Operator / Machining Operativewho has an eye for detail and ideally machine shop experience (ideal, although not essential)

Working as the Machine Operator / Machining Operative you will be trained as a Surface Grinding Technician and will be involved in the first stage in the process of manufacturing the company’s range of threading tools, which involves using surface grindingmachines to produce properly sized and squared sections of steel blanks in line with the company's quality standards.

The person currently working this job is due to retire in December and you will work alongside him, learning all elements of the job until he retires.

As the Machine Operator / Machining Operative you will learn to set and run a range of manual surface grinding machines including Lumsden Grinders and produce parts to close tolerances. You will be setting multiple jobs throughout the working day and willbe responsible for checking your own work using micrometres, verniers and other measuring equipment.

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**

As a Machine Operator / Machining Operative the following are required:

- Will have completed an apprenticeship in a tool making / machining discipline (or equivalent experience) and/or will have a good knowledge and understanding of machine shop practices
- Familiar with inspection tools and techniques
- Working within a team

Full Training will be provided
