Estate Management Officer

We are looking for an Estate Management Officer to join us in Devon. Working mainly from Killerton, you’ll provide technical support for our residential, commercial and agricultural properties.

This is a 2-year fixed term contract opportunity offering a salary of £31,500 per annum. We are happy to explore and agree a hybrid working arrangement, which strikes the right balance for you and the Trust.

What it's like to work here:Working across North Devon, split between the north Devon coast, countryside sites and the Arlington Court Estate. Your working week will be dynamic, some days being in the office and some days out with ranger teams supporting day-to-day operations, you’ll have the chance to support a variety of projects. Creating a healthy, resilient, natural environment for enjoyment by the nation is one of the Trust’s biggest priorities. The portfolio has ambitious plans, and you will be a key part of helping to make these happen.

We are the UK’s biggest private landowner, you will support with the management of the properties we own and protect. Working as part of a diverse team of Estate Managers, Rural Surveyors, Building Surveyors, Building Supervisors and Letting Officer, you’ll be involved with a diverse range of historic buildings. The management of our tenancies and assets, together with the relationships we have with our tenants, underpins our national £40m+ annual rental income and is absolutely essential to the delivery of our conservation work.

What you'll be doing:You will be supporting the Estate Manager in delivering our strategy of making more space for people accessing nature.

Working closely with the team, providing general estate management support including the delivery of the Estate Management plan objectives. You will respond to requests for information, producing GIS plans and drafting basic licences and tenancy documentation. Utilising your expert customer service skills, building and maintaining relationships across the portfolios with tenants and colleagues.

- Strong data management and data analytical skills with the ability to develop and maintain data, systems and processes to support the effective management of the property portfolio.
- IT skills. Confident in using MS Office suite, Property Computer systems -Horizon and navigating financial management systems.
- An ability to undertake residential lettings and rent reviews.
- An understanding of the legislation relating to land and property including drafting licences and other legal agreements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
