Oxford, United Kingdom Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Would you like to make a difference and use your own experience to do something positive for others in the field of psychosis?
We are recruiting for a Peer Support Worker to join our Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis clinical research group on a 24 month fixed-term contract where you will work on delivering a new six-month guided online programme called Feeling Safer, funded by the NIHR. This intervention aims to achieve substantially improved outcomes for the large number of people with persecutory delusions who have not responded sufficiently to current treatment.
You'll work in a team including a site lead, a clinical/counselling psychologist and research assistants to engage individuals at the early stages of psychosis and deliver this specialist CBT intervention (Feeling Safer) with close supervision from a clinical psychologist; working within NHS services and clinical trials methodology.
This is a part-time role (22.5 hours per week) based at the Department of Experimental Psychology in central Oxford.
If you have completed a Level 2 Peer Mentor course, have experience of working with patients diagnosed with psychosis and an interest in contributing to clinical research within this field then we would love to hear from you
Take an autonomous role in delivering the intervention in line with the treatment manual and study protocol, under the supervision of a clinical psychologist/psychological therapist, as part of the Feeling Safer trial.
Establish a trusting and supportive relationship with those taking part in the Feeling Safer therapy, recognising this may mean being prepared to face and negotiate differences in people’s personal limits and boundaries, giving and receiving constructive feedback, seeking supervisory support when out of the peer session, a knowledge of relevant study and NHS Trust protocols and enacting on confidentiality limits
Highly developed working knowledge of the intervention manual and principles of peer support
Attend and contribute to study fidelity rating meetings, supervision, and regular training sessions with other study staff members
Good record-keeping including updating patient records with trial progress and completing the recruitment database
