About our Client

Waking Night & Weekend Carer / PA - in Salisbury

Our client is looking to recruit a team of Personal Assistants to add to the current team he has in place. He has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and is a keen sports fan, particularly football being a season ticket holder at Tottenham Hotspur. He obtained his degree and Masters in Creative Writing from Winchester University and enjoys writing screenplays. He requires help with all aspects of his life - Personal Care, Clinical Care and general support. He is looking for PAs with a lively personality and positive attitude.

Our client, who is looking initially for a PA to cover the night shifts & weekends currently lives in his parent’s home and has a bedroom with ensuite facilities.He is actively looking for his own accommodation and would hope to take his care team with him. Duties would include getting our client ready for bed, re-positioning throughout the night and offering drinks or other asjuhsistance as required.Our client uses a BIPAP Ventilator whilst asleep and this would need to be monitored.At the end of shift, you would hand over to the day PA.

Prior care experience is not required, all training will be provided but some experience is preferred.

**Minimum requirements to work as Night/Weekend Carer**:

- A reliable, compassionate, and personable nature with the ability to work with patience, tact and understanding,
- Good standard of English and ability to communicate effectively
- Driver preferred but not mandatory
- Ideally have previous care experience but not essential as full training will be provided.

**Duties include**:

- Repositioning hourly - The client has an electric, profiling bed with a sliding sheet system to aid easy repositioning.
- Providing drinks when requested.
- Maintaining care record
- Assisting client where necessary

In between these duties there is ample opportunity to entertain yourself either reading a book or using Wi-Fi. There is a comfortable chair with table and small light. You will have use of the ensuite facilities.
