About us

Richmond Hill is a two-site, child-centred forward thinking primary special school for pupils with severe and complex needs from 4 to 11 years of age. All pupils that attend our school will have an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP).

We operate at Richmond Hill school as two small schools, Small school East and Small school West.

At both sites we have Reception through to Year 6, Each school is set up to support specifically within a developmental age range, enabling us to personalise both teaching, learning, environment and external support to meet the diverse needs of our learners developing the best provision and support service for each of our growing small schools. There is a Small School Head at each small school that leads the small school, Small school East caters for our learners in Early Years and our Roots pathway, Small school West caters and supports our Shoots and leaves children.

Children are supported in line with their personal plans and the curriculum is developed to meet the needs of every student. There is a high level of support within the classroom and this ensures that all needs are met.
