**About The Role**:
**Job Purpose**

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Psychologist to join the team to cover Maternity Leave. As an Assistant Psychologist you will provide a high standard of quality care under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. You will work across all 3 of our services spending 5 hrs in each service per week. All 3 services provide care and support for Adults with mild mental health issues, Learning Disabilities and ASD. Our aim is to rehabilitate people back into community living whilst promoting a good quality of life for our residents. We are recruiting full time Support Workers to join the well
- established team at the home. Some of the main responsibilities of the role are: - Supporting our service users to access the community and services available

As an Assistant Psychologist you will assist in the formulation of routine care plans involving the psychological treatment or management of the client’s condition under the direct supervision of a qualified psychologist.

**Key Accountabilities**
- To support the clinical psychologist to provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to clients with acquired brain injury and neurological disorders, through individual, group and indirect psychological intervention.
- To support clients to engage in behavioural activation and meaningful occupation
- To support the psychology department to maintain a high quality of care, including record keeping and clinical standards.
- To encourage the independence and autonomy of the clients in everyday activities.

**Clinical Practice**
- To support the clinical psychologist to complete brief initials assessments for all admissions
- To participate in cognitive / neuropsychological assessments of clients, and/ or behavioural assessments under the recommendation and guidance of clinical psychologist
- To assist with writing of risk assessment and care plans for areas of psychological need
- To assist with the completion of psychological interventions and activities (group and individual) within the client’s rehabilitation programmes
- To support the implementation of behavioural programmes / positive behaviour support plans for clients, and assist with the delivery of meaningful activities
- To carry out rehabilitation programmes in collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to maximise clients functional abilities
- To participate and contribute to regular departmental and clinical meetings, including goal setting, as required
- To assist and participate in social activities of the centre organised for patients such as barbecues, seasonal outings and parties
- To be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation in line with professional and company standards of practice.
- To regularly attend supervision in line with THG protocol and BPS standards

**Research**
- To participate in the development and delivery of training (formal and informal) to internal and external audiences, with and without support
- To participate in departmental research and clinical governance/audit project when required

**General**
- Adopt a professional approach to patient / resident care at all times
- Be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors, carers, members of the multi-disciplinary care team and senior professional and managerial staff.
- To be familiar and comply with the service Business Continuity Plan in case of an emergency.
- Take personal responsibility for ensuring that The Huntercombe Group resources are used efficiently and with minimum wastage
- Have access to a wide range of confidential information about patients, staff and The Huntercombe Group which must not be divulged to any unauthorised person in any circumstances at any time in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures in accordance with Information Governance and the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
