Working within a dynamic team for one of the UK’s largest Vehicle Hire companies and working in Northgate will be a unique experience in your career to date and especially working in our Croydon Branch.

The Yard Controller position at Northgate is an essential role within selected branches and you are tasked with the control of all vehicle movements onsite, maintaining and organising the yard and always ensuring full Health & Safety compliance. You are required to be ‘Operating the Northgate Way’ to ensure a high level of consistency and service for our customers across the UK.

You will be a high performing individual, who effectively plans, demonstrates logical thinking, and utilises the resource and assets available in the best way, reviewing performance and driving continuous improvement.

Working closely with the branch rental & workshop teams, to ensure you consistently deliver service excellence and effective control of the yard including the vehicles within it.

**About you**
- You come from a fast-paced, customer-focused background - the industry is not important but where you excel is in quickly understanding what matters to your customers.
- You are a people person - you put yourself in your customer’s shoes and communicate well with them in sometimes-difficult situations.
- You are a confident, courteous driver with good knowledge of the local area - ideally, you have some previous driving experience in your career, especially if you regularly used ‘Transit’ sized (or larger) vehicles or are IAM / emergency services trained.
- You get involved in every part of our business - you take pride being part of the Northgate team and are keen to help colleagues with a hands-on, can-do approach to getting things done.
