James Fisher Shipping Services have an opportunity for a Fleet Trainer to ensure that ship staff are and remain healthy and that they undertake work onboard our ships in a safe, secure and environmentally friendly manner as possible. The role also provides support to the other QSE Team members such as conducting internal and security audits.
**Principal Accountabilities**
- To undertake a sailing voyage (where accommodation allows) aboard each vessel in the fleet. Each vessel should receive a visit at least once a year. While onboard; watch, review and propose changes and improvements to the way operations are conducted and provide training to those onboard to enhance and refresh skills.
- Promote safety compliance during vessel visits including the development of a strong on-board safety culture.
- The development and updating of safety related training materials (videos, power point presentations and posters etc.) that can be used throughout the fleet, in particular the safety presentations used while onboard.
- Manage the Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) safety program, review material at least annually to ensure all operations are covered. Collate information and distribute summaries and learnings to the fleet and to management.
- Review, update and putting to work of manuals and procedures used throughout the fleet with a particular emphasis on health, safety, security & environment.
- Each training visit needs to have a concise and accurate report on completion.
- Experience in people training, a willingness to visit and remain onboard for a voyage to review the various operations. Preferred to have ‘train the trainer’ qualifications
- The knowledge to understand shipboard operations and be able to identify improvements to the actual operation.
- Good verbal and written skills to ensure that communications are effective and that reports are clear and concise.

The role is UK based but with travel out to the ships and training the individuals onboard
