**Senior Java Developer - Remote - Surrey - £550/day (Inside IR35) - 3 Months Initially - Public Sector - Immediate Start**

DataBuzz are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious Public Sector organization who are currently looking for **Senior Java Developer (Remote Role)**.
As a **Senior Java Developer (Remote Role)**, you will be required to design, implement and test improvements to the performance and features of the DROID file identification tool, starting with enabling DROID to be integrated with cloud-basedworkflows.

As a **Senior Java Developer (Remote Role)**, you will be developer actively working on DROID with wider team of Product manager, Technical Architect, Lead, Digital Archivists, Senior Developers and Developers (internal and external) wishingto use DROID as part of a cloud-based workflow.

As a **Senior Java Developer (Remote Role)**, you will be exploring technical options, design, document, implement and test a series of incremental improvements to DROID, in line with priorities and will knowledge transfer to team.

As a **Senior Java Developer (Remote Role)**,you will be working on a roadmap which includes enabling integration of DROID into cloud-based workflows and service infrastructures and unifying the underlying code base for CLI and GUI, improvingperformance and reducing installation issues and enabling integration with other systems.

**Essential skills and experience**
- Experience delivering fully unit/integration tested code as part of a continuous build and delivery pipeline
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and ensure appropriate and timely knowledge transfer
- Ability to plan, manage and take responsibility for your own work

**Nice-to-have skills and experience;**
- Experience of relevant cloud technologies, such as AWS, Terraform, Docker
- Familiarity with the Government Service Standard
- A familiarity with DROID and PRONOM and their use to support digital preservation activities
