Breakthrough in Education are looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join a team in the Lowestoft area.

You will be working in an early years class, for children with special educational needs and disabilities. The position provides you with the opportunity to assist in the learning of young peoples' education, and feel like you are making a positive impact on their school experience.

The school also provides facilities such as sensory rooms, outside play and small classes, and provides the opportunity for one to one teaching when necessary. This gives you the chance to understand the impact of effective teaching and the way special provisions allow for a safe space for learners to express themselves.

The Role:
Your role within the classroom will include:

- Assisting the teacher in the classroom, maintaining the learning structure and ensuring all pupils receive the best possible education.
- Observing outside play and ensuring the safety of the students.
- Encouraging the independence of the pupils, whilst also providing care when needed
- Engaging the students in creative learning activities, ensuring the classroom atmosphere is fun and engaging
- Maintaining the safeguarding regulations in the classroom and around the school.

We are looking for someone who will:

- Function well in a team environment
- Maintain confidence with new situations, and have the ability to remain calm
- Be empathetic to the needs of the pupils, and encourage a soft approach with in the classroom
- Think quickly and creatively in order to problem solve
- Remain kind and friendly when interacting with colleagues, parents or children
- Remain patient at all times, and understanding to the learning style of the pupils.
- An EYFS background or any early years experience is preferred but not essential
