**Job Purpose**

Food and Beverage assistants are the public face of a hotel and contribute to the guests’ enjoyment of their hotel stay experience. They are responsible to serve the guests in accordance with standards laid down.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Knowledge on preparation and service of dishes as per the menu/product lists.
- Make sure that the service area is laid down as per standard.
- Tables are set and cleared on time as per company standards.
- Provide attentive service during the meal and look for special requests.
- Assist in the general cleaning of your working areas
- Take every opportunity to upsell - desserts, starters, drinks etc
- Practice the correct and safe of all in house equipment.
- Fully aware of and strictly adhere to security procedures laid down
- Maintain the grooming standards.
- Fully aware of the current liquor licensing law.
- Attend training when required.
- Fully aware of and adhere to Health and Safety, Fire and Bomb threat procedures as laid down by the hotel and Company.
- Report all damage, hazards and wear and tear occurring within your areas of work.
- Fully aware of hotel activities and facilities.

**Key Skills / Experience Requirements**
- Proven skillset in using tills.
- Good at cash handling.
- Problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge in usage of coffee machines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexibility and the ability to respond appropriately to changing situations.
- Discretion and sensitivity
- The ability to maintain professional standards under pressure.
- Strong IT skills.
- Excellent administration and organisational skills
