CNC Machinist Apprenticeship

**Job Role and Responsibilities**:
The apprentice will be joining a highly motivated team which works to high standards expected in the aviation industry. The apprentice will be given the opportunity to learn a variety of machining skills throughout the 4 year programme.

**Initial tasks will include**:

- Learning how to programme and operate complex cnc machining equipment
- Learning how to set a number of different cnc machines
- Learning to work on milling machines and lathes
- The apprentice will eventually take responsibility for setting speeds and feeds, materials and complex problem solving. The apprentice will eventually be expected to work on a shift basis.

**The apprentice will gain the following qualifications**:

- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) - 36 weeks practical training in the college workshops at Tyne Met College
- Level 2 Diploma in Machining (Foundation Knowledge) - 1 year 1 day per week
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) - Machining
- Level 3 Diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge) - 2 years 1 day per week.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £9,254.44 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Consett, DH8 6SR: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- GCSE or equivalent (required)
