The Safeguarding Adults Hub is an established team who have a vast combined amount of experience, and have developed a successful approach to Safeguarding Adults in West Sussex. We're a supportive team who ensure that our practice is developed and maintainedby use of team reflection and continuous learning and development.

**About the job**
In this varied and challenging role, you will work with colleagues from all our statutory partners, providers, and members of the public when reviewing and making vital decisions in relation to Safeguarding Adults.

The Safeguarding Adults' Hub provides the single point of access for all Safeguarding Adults. The need to be able to rapidly risk assess situations and engage with people who maybe in crisis is key to the role. The referrals and queries that the SafeguardingHub respond to covers the full spectrum of life across West Sussex and team is looking for postholders who can bring new skills, knowledge, and background to an already diverse team.

The role is also responsible for dealing with a complex and challenging portfolio of casework and providing advice and guidance on casework to colleagues.

The hub will triage all safeguarding referrals submitted to the Local Authority, initiate all safeguarding enquiries and develop initial safeguarding plans.
You'll be expected to work within organisational, policy and legislative requirements, and will deliver a statutory social work service to those people who access or need the service to include assessment, planning, implementing and review. You will be requiredto undertake post-qualifying training and to maintain records of training in line with registration requirements.
You may be required to travel throughout the County, including to locations that are not always easily accessible by public transport. There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public.

**Required experience and skills**
(These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)

**Key Skills**:
1. Ability to analyse and interpret people related information and data in order to prioritise needs and formulate plans for intervention and service provision.
2. Ability to undertake direct work with those who access or need the service in order to support individuals.
3. Ability to work proactively as a member of the team to make an accurate assessment of needs and negotiate and implement effective plans and outcomes.
4. Ability to work in partnership with carers, colleagues and a variety of external agencies in order to deliver the most effective service.
5. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral format including the ability to explain complicated and sensitive information to a wide range of people and negotiate and persuade others to adopt a particular course of action.
6. Ability to recognise the limits of own accountability and responsibility, and to seek appropriate support, advice and supervision.

**Qualifications and/or experience**:

- Degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification e.g. Certificate of Qualification in Social Work or Diploma in Social Work.
- Appropriately registered with the Social Work England.
- Valid, full driving licence.
- Good, up-to-date working knowledge of legislations relevant to the specialist area of the post.
- Evidence of good assessment skills, including the ability to ensure regular reviews and risk management with a variety of individuals, carers or families.
- Evidence of effectively prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
- Good understanding of the necessity of working with partnership agencies including health, housing, learning, statutory, voluntary and independent sector.
- Experience of working in partnership with those who access or need the service and maintaining a focus on the needs of the individual whilst handling conflict and disagreement.
- Experience of forming effective working relationships within a multi-agency / multidisciplinary setting.
- Evidence of working with those who access or need the service to identify issues and identify specific action by means of creative and pragmatic solutions.
- Experience of managing levels of risk within a caseload.
