Temporary Warehouse Operative

Here at Peacocks Nantgarw Distribution Centre based in South Wales, we have a fantastic opportunity for Temporary Warehouse Operatives reporting to the Shift Manager.

We are looking for Temporary Warehouse Operatives who will work together with our skilled Colleagues to ensure the continued success of our leading chain of women’s fashion.

**Hours**:
The depot operates a rotating shift pattern of 06:00 hours to 14:00 hours and 14:00 hours to 22:00 hours. Your normal working week will be 39 hours, worked 5 days over 7 days.

**Role**: To assist with the Put Away, Sortation, Picking, Replenishment and Loading of all goods, coming into and out of the Distribution Centre, on an accurate and timely basis.

**Responsibilities**:
To ensure that WMS stock is picked accurately using Handheld Scanners, stock is placed in the carriers and tubs provided and transported to the Sort Machine.

To ensure that RMS stock is picked accurately using manual picking lists and is placed in the correct format for loading.

To assign all bundles of stock from RMS, in preparation for despatch to store.

To ensure that picking lists are forwarded to Administration and Stock Control, in order to highlight no stocks and discrepancies.

To induct stock to the Sort Machine, ensuring that each individual reference number is scanned, and the stock is placed correctly onto the Sort Machine.

To maintain a smooth flow of stock along the chute allocation leading from the Sortation Machine, by pushing full tubs onto the conveyor.

To ensure that the Bin Sort is kept clear, in order to sustain a constant flow of full tubs from the Sortation Machine to the Transport area.

To ensure that tubs and stocks are marshalled into routes, according to the route plan from transport.

To load stock onto the trailer as per the Company Loading procedure, ensuring that the present location of stock is recorded on box tracking system via the scanner guns.

To ensure that trailer is sealed after loading.

To ensure that mechanical handling equipment is operated safely, in line with company procedures and health and safety legislation.

To ensure that all equipment used during the course of the shift is treated with care and attention and is returned intact to the Supervisors office at the end of the shift.

To utilise the functions of the Handheld Terminals, in order to undertake the replenishment of stock from the Pallet Racking and Put Away areas, to the relevant picking locations.

To put away any stock that has been identified by Goods-In and requires locating in the slow/medium mover areas.

To ensure that safe systems of work and procedures, regarding the use and care of all equipment and machinery, are followed at all times.

To maintain a safe, clean and tidy working environment, ensuring that Health & Safety regulations are adhered to.

Upon request of the Operations Shift Manager to carry out any other ad hoc duties for the Operations department.
