**We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join an established and growing company. This is a permanent position covering Devon & Cornwall with a superb benefits package linked to the basicsalary. Please read on if you have experience in operational utility health, safety and environment support plus working knowledge of environmental standard ISO14001**
The responsibility of the role is to support the Operational HSE strategy to ensure the workforce operates safely, whilst promoting good health and wellbeing and avoiding any negative impact on the environment or the public.
- Assist in the assessment of emerging or updated HS&E legislation; review, amend or create HS&E procedures as required to meet continued compliance. Assist with communicating the impact to operations and the wider business.
- Undertake active monitoring (to include hazard spotting, inspections and audits) of site management and working practices to help ensure the delivery of continual improvement in health, safety and environmental performance. Ensuring compliance with companyHS&E policy and procedures
- Undertake accident and/or incident investigation, producing detailed report which identify immediate and underlying causes, offering recommendations for action to ensure compliance with HS&E legislation.
**What is needed**:
- Experienced in operational utility health, safety and environment support (preferable gas network distribution; other utilities e.g water, electric considered). Working knowledge of environmental standard ISO14001
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels, both within the business and externally with regulatory bodies, organisations and individuals (including enforcing authorities, contractors and members of the general public).
- A professional qualification in HS&E e.g. H&S Management Degree, GSE NVQ Level 5 or NEBOSH certificate
- Membership of a HS&E professional body e.g. IOSH (Chartered or Graduate level working towards Chartered membership
