Product Owner

As a Product Owner you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver Partnership Data Products. You will be responsible for supporting the development of the roadmap for the product and producing a clear and agreed plan which meets all our business and customer requirements.

You will influence and advocate for future development based on an understanding of knowledge of data, the data and information strategy, the business strategy and relevant industry activity.

We have four roles available in different areas of the Data Management Office: Data Product, Data Management and Data Governance which will be discussed further at the interview stage.

**What will you be doing?**:
As part of the Data Product team you will work with your business users and stakeholders to understand the strategy, key business requirements and how you and your team can deliver the most valuable development changes. You will work collaboratively with data engineers, scrum master delivery leads, 3rd party providers and the other teams in the Data Management Office to deliver our products roadmap.

As part of the Data Management team you will use your expertise, experience and your knowledge in data coupled with a variety of leading practices and techniques to identify, develop, implement and sustain capabilities that deliver against business data requirements and objectives through the data lifecycle. You will work collaboratively with project teams and colleagues in the Data Management Office to deliver key strategic initiatives which contribute to the success of the overall Partnership's goals and data strategy.

As part of the Data Governance team you will work closely with stakeholders across the entire Partnership, whether this be senior leaders or data users, to develop trusted relationships. This will help deliver successful and consistent data accountability across the business. You will support the Partnership in managing the controls that mitigate data and security risks, drive improvements in data quality, produce consistent data standards and help incorporate data into everyday business processes.

**General responsibilities**:

- Input into the end to end lifecycle of the product including the roadmap and delivery plan for products which include commercial benefits, customer perspective, technical feasibility, benchmarked experiences and innovative thinking.
- Support the delivery of a prioritised backlog and make sure that the team are all working towards the same goal. Ensure delivery which drives real value from the data asset and is fully aligned to our business and data strategies.
- Ensure the business understands what the Product can deliver, why it is important and the benefits it can bring. Support stakeholders to utilise the product in the way which drives greatest value.
- Instill a culture of customer centric thinking across the Data Management profession. Drive continuous improvement in team and product performance.

**What you'll have**:

- Strong numerical and analytical skills with strong data analysis skills
- Excellent communicator
- Understanding of technical architecture of complex data warehouses and the supporting ecosystems
- Understanding of the business logic of data insights and analytics
- Experience of matrixed ways of working
- Experience of data product ownership and management

- Understanding of Agile methodologies
- Experience in complex / large data projects and functions
- Experience of developing/delivering one or more of the following - BI / Insight, Data Warehouse, Complex retail environments, Analytics design
- Prior experience functioning within aspects in the data management lifecycle
