Looking for a new and challenging role within a progressive automotive organisation? The client which I am working with is currently undergoing exponential growth across their entire organisation, and they are looking for Lead Controls Engineer to join theirranks
We are looking for an individual who has strong experience and expertise in the specification, delivery, installation, and launch of Control Systems, with a thorough understanding of machine electrical systems and designs in manufacturing.
**What will I do?**
- To manage the overall planning, co-ordination and delivery of Control systems and standards to ensure production ready equipment interfaces.
- Manage the achievement of the team performance objectives.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with other Manufacturing Engineering process teams, Manufacturing Operations, and IT Departments.
- Develop and maintain Technical Standards, Project Books and specifications for all Manufacturing systems in line with the departments Bill of Process.
- Develop and maintain interfaces specifications from Shop Floor PLC's/Applications to Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Commission and work on machine monitoring/quality systems within Production Facilities.
- Provide technical expertise to the team in problem solving activities to accurately identify root cause and corrective actions.
- Develop new suppliers, cost effectively, into the groups Standards for Equipment Manufacture.
- Develop and contribute to the Controls training for Manufacturing Operations teams.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
- Lead in energy management for control systems for suitable elements of a project.
**What will I bring?**
- Previous experience and expertise in the specification, delivery, installation and launch of Controls Systems, preferably in an automotive or powertrain environment.
- Thorough understanding of machine electrical systems and designs in Manufacturing.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of machinery safety legislation and standards.
- Ethernet IP Network.
- Experience of Computer Numerically Controlled programming methods.
- Profinet and ProfiSafe Experience.
- Knowledge of IT networks and architectures.
