**About the Senior UX Designer role**
As part of the user centred design team, you’ll be joining over 25 practitioners in UX Design, User Research, Content Design and Visual Design. You’ll also work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts and Developers as well as the wider HL team.
There’s opportunity to join squads working on cutting edge services like ‘Augmented Advice’, the HL design system, onboarding journeys, accounts, pensions, payments and more.
**As a Senior UX Designer within the HL UCD team, you will**:

- Help the squad adopt a user-centred approach to delivery by understanding their users and testing ideas quickly and often
- Collaborate with user researchers to evaluate client experience
- Plan and facilitate workshops to gain knowledge and foster alignment
- Repeatedly iterate designs based on evidence and sound rationale
- Produce prototypes to facilitate exploratory research, communicate design, or test ideas with clients
- Create a shared understanding of clients and their experience through the creation of UX artefacts
- Present complex information and concepts to colleagues in a clear and articulate manner
- Share work with colleagues and peers for feedback and critique
- Conform and contribute to organisational design standards
- Work with the UX Design Lead and user-centred design practice to promote and shape User-Centred Design at HL

**In addition to the core role, you could also choose to support**:

- The Accessibility Working Group coach Accessibility awareness and skills through mentorship, training and knowledge sharing and provide Accessibility auditing and user research to teams across the business.
- The Design System Squad define and document design standards, UI components, and patterns
- The Vulnerable Clients Working Group use Behavioral Science to ensure we treat all clients fairly

**About you**:

- You are a passionate advocate for high design and engineering standards with meticulous attention to detail
- Are an open, confident, and considered communicator and collaborator
- Have experience designing and delivering collaborative workshops
- Have excellent knowledge of established design and interaction patterns
- Can visualise complex information in simple, memorable and compelling ways
- Can produce testable prototypes (using varied tools and methods) for design research and evaluation
- Can articulate design rationale to both designers and stakeholders
- Can follow a rigorous, yet pragmatic, user-centred design process within an Agile environment
- Can employ excellent analytical, and critical thinking skills in your work

**Desirable experience**Not essential, but we would also like to see:

- A degree in UX Design, HCI, or related field
- Knowledge of web accessibility guidelines
- Experience developing and evaluating information architecture
- Experience using and contributing to design systems
- Experience working in distributed teams
- Experience with Adobe Analytics (or similar)
- Experience coaching or managing other designers
