Support Worker Flexible Hours
**Looking for a worthwhile job with the hours that work for you? Female applicants only please.**
You'll join us as a Relief Support Worker; we provide support 24 hours a day seven days per week so we can probably offer the hours that suit you.
**How Relief hours work**
It's a bit like a zero hour contract but without the bad bits.
- You don't have to work when it's not convenient for you.
- Receive the same training towards professional qualifications as permanent staff.
- We offer these contracts not because it suits us but because it suits you.
- Job security and career development
The Relief (Bank) post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave, training and other staff absences. As such, hours are non-specific but your manager will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible.
We normally plan the rotas one month in advance, but additional opportunities also come up due to unexpected staff absences.
**So what would you be doing?**
You'll join the friendly team of Support Workers at our small, homely supported living service in Aylesbury. The house is home to five women in their mid-40s, who each have a learning disability. We pride ourselves on providing high quality, individual support. We assist the ladies to get out and about, including local walks, drives, trips to the zoo, swimming, sensory areas, arts and crafts, cinema trips and theatre trips - the list is endless Sarah and Josie* prefer a slower pace of life and may opt for a good book or foot spa at home instead.
You will help to prepare homecooked meals, and enjoy them as family meals together with the team, and the ladies whose home this is.
You will also support the women with administering medication and with personal care. We will provide you with full training and back-up from our specialist teams and your colleagues.
No two days are the same, which makes our roles so rewarding.
