Role Summary
The role of the Senior Investment Content Writer, Investment Communications, is to provide globally accessible analysis and reporting communications to Russell Investment’s numerous client bases.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Investment Communications and includes a range of key tasks essential to the smooth and effective running of reporting and communications in the European business. The Senior Investment Content Writer, Investment Communications, will sit in a small team of investment communications specialists.
The role of the Senior Investment Content Writer, Investment Communications, is an integral component of our move towards improving our investment writing model. The Senior Investment Content Writer, Investment Communications will develop an in-depth knowledge of Russell's fixed income and equity fund ranges.
The role will also require close liaison with Russell’s investment division, sales teams, client service and Marketing. This role will provide day-to-day exposure to both the institutional and retail businesses.
The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
Regulatory & Business conduct- Displaying exemplary conduct and living by our organizations Code of Conduct.- Taking personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct across the business.- Effectively and collaboratively identifying, escalating, mitigating and resolving risk, conduct and compliance.
Investment Commentaries- Producing coherent, concise investment commentaries on a range of asset classes.- Analysing complex data.- Liaising closely with the Portfolio Managers and Analysts in the Investment Division.- Keeping up-to-date with news of what is happening in the markets and Russell funds for which they are responsible.- Point of contact for designated asset classes.- Producing reports, marketing materials and communications on other asset classes from time to time.
Reporting- Writing scheduled collateral including Monthly and Quarterly Fund reports, Market commentaries, Interim Audit reports, Fund and Client Profile reports, Client Presentation slides and Fund change communications.
Content writing- Taking responsibility for other regular investment content relating to his/her asset class that is included in Russell's regular or ad hoc investment communications.- Writing ad hoc pieces about markets and other significant events on request.- Contributing to new business initiatives when required.
Stakeholder engagement- Assisting in building & maintaining strong relationships with key external stakeholders in the Investment Division, marketing professionals, client service and sales teams.- Attending regular investment meetings and communicating themes for sales and marketing purposes.- Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification preferably in business, finance, communications, economics, or similar discipline is desirable.- Relevant investment writing or proven financial journalistic skills and further knowledge of financial markets, investment funds and financial products is desirable.- Having strong communication skills such as oral and written is crucial.- Having the ability to effectively communicate to a range of audiences and through different mediums is essential.- Having excellent attention to detail.- Having a proven understanding of investment funds, financial products and the global economic environment is essential.- Being able to uncover and meet the needs of both internal and external clients.- Acting with urgency and working hard to address client demands.- Effectively managing client expectations and delivering value-added collateral.- Being proficient at prioritization and having proven experience with managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to operate under scheduled deadlines.- Having good time management.- Is a team player with the proven ability to build strong and productive relationships, being adaptable, reliable and has a strong ‘can do’ attitude with effective interpersonal skills.
