Position:
- Design, development, programming, and testing of control systems (primarily Siemens S7 and Portal)
- Ownership of the company's software registers ensuring correct revisions are stored centrally and correctly documented
- Implementation of autonomous solutions to legacy equipment
- Integration of Industry 4.0 solutions to new and existing machines
- Integration of control systems within client site
- Working alongside Systems & Controls and Mechanical Engineers on control system design including panel and equipment wiring design.
- Design, specification, and procurement of materials/parts
- Maintain upkeep of budgets and schedules for equipment development
- Production of documentation for the correct use of machinery and processes
- Support to workshop and site-based Engineers
- Produce documentation for the correct use of machinery and processes
- Supporting field operators
- Supporting workshop Engineers
Qualification and Skills:
- Engineering based Degree or equivalent (HNC, HND), 2:2 or above.
- Extensive experience in a relevant role or time served apprenticeship
- Siemens PLC software experience
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Project
- Solid Engineering knowledge base
- An understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, & hydraulic systems and how they interact with electrical systems
- Conversant with IEC 61131-3
- Good communication skills
- Good timekeeping skills; ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own and others time efficiently
