Cheese Counter Supervisor

Our farm shop is looking for a Cheese Counter Supervisor to oversee our exciting cheese department. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for artisan products, exceptional customer service skills, and a desire to build a thriving cheese counter.

**Responsibilities**:

- Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the cheese counter.
- Manage cheese inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.
- Track cheese sales trends and identify areas for growth and source new products for the counter.
- Ensure the cheese counter is clean, well-organised, and visually appealing.
- Assist customers with cheese selection, offering pairing recommendations and product knowledge. (training can be offered in this area if required).
- Create cheese displays and curate a selection that reflects seasonal offerings and customer preferences.
- Maintain a high level of customer service, ensuring a positive and informative shopping experience.
- Manage cheese tastings.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Work closely with the Farm Shop Manager to ensure the cheese counter sits in line with the Farm Shop targets. Focussing on increasing footfall, improving customer spend and monitoring gross margins and wastage.

**Qualifications**:

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
- Strong management skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a small team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in inventory management and stock rotation techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for cheese and a desire to share that passion with others

**Hours of Work**:

- Five days a week - position will require some weekend working.
- In addition to the standard hours of work outlined in your Contract of Employment you may be expected to work additional hours from time to time and some bank holidays to meet the demands of this position.

**Manual Handling**:

- Elements of this job may involve lifting therefore a minimum level of health & fitness will be required.

**Salary**: £11.44-£13.00 per hour
