Senior Buyer

Quest Search & Selection are proudly partnering with this global multi-brand business which has been established for over 100 years and employs 7,000 people across different location in the UK, Ireland and globally.

The main purpose of this Senior Buyer role is to manage the trading activities and Profit and Loss for the category and to deliver maximum sales and profitability for the range and customer offering

The roles and responsibilities for this Senior Buyer - Ambient role -- You will have buying responsibility and lead a small team for categories across branded and own-label
- The products include snacking, cereal & protein bars alongside other savoury snacks
- You will be responsible for selecting and developing profitable new ranges for upcoming seasons
- Lead and develop innovative range marketing plans around the categories
- Using data and upcoming trends you will generate new ideas on how to grow YOY sales, margin and income to deliver an effective and profitable category plans.
- You'll need to analyse data and competitive trends and getting feedback from stores regarding performance
- Close management of critical paths to deliver ranges
- Conduct range reviews and undertake continuous improvement of the product offer through effective range analysis
- Working closely with the supply chain teams to ensure in store availability is optimised
- Managing performance of products within budget

To be successful in this Senior Buyer role -- You'll be an experienced Buyer, Category Manager or Senior Buyer within Retail ideally in fast-paced consumer environment.
- Immediately available of have a 1 month notice period as this is initially as 12 month contract.
- Have led at an AB or Buyer level
- Ideally has experience on Stationery, Toys, Food, Gifts, Impulse Buys, Books & Magazines
- Suits someone who is creative for new products (FE Sourcing) but also commercial regarding dealing with large suppliers
- A head for figures, as this area is data-driven.
- Has expertise knowledge for revenue, sales, margin and promotional income.
- Experience of online and offline trading desirable
- P&L Management experience
