Yard Supervisor

BHC is one of the UK’s leading Structural Steel Fabrication and Construction companies, supplying and erecting fabricated steel nationwide within the UK and Ireland.

Our valued client base includes some of the UK’s foremost main contractors and developers, which enables us to work across different sectors, including Agriculture, Commercial, Education, Health, Industrial, Oil and Gas and Retail.

We are currently looking to recruit a Yard Supervisor for our busy loading and dispatch area. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations in the yard.

**Main Responsibilities-**:

- Ensure materials are booked in an out as required using BHC procedures and processes.
- Complete relevant documentation and record work activity using TnT scanning systems or strumis system.
- Operation of all equipment required for role in a safe manner.
- Manage a small team of Yard operatives effectively and ensure that tasks are carried-out efficiently and safely at all times.
- Communicate with supervisors / managers about issues that may have an impact on other departments.
- Liaise with Transport Manager to ensure correct loads are ready for uplift when required.
- Load and unload materials in a safe and controlled manner.
- Assist CNC and Transport managers with smooth running of all operations when required.
- Ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner according to company policies and procedures.
- Continuous housekeeping, ensuring a clean and safe working environment at all times, following BHC written work instructions.

**Essential skills and experience**
- Experience in a similar role
- Supervisory experience essential.
- Fork
- lift licence would be advantageous,
- Overhead crane experience would be advantageous.
