**Role: Delegated Underwriting Assistant**

A great opportunity to join this growing Independent and owner managed Syndicate / MGA. As they are owner managed, they are able to have a great flexibility and reward on bottom line profitability. They operate a flat structure that promotes engagement andproductivity.

Within this role you will be working alongside the Delegated Authority Manager in this two-man team and the role has come about due to growth so there would be plenty of opportunity to develop and grow with this role.

**Delegated Underwriting Duties include**:

- Assist in the coverholder onboarding and contract review process for DU business
- Assist in the audit process, including coordination of coverholder reviews on DAM, review of coverholder audit reports and follow up on audit recommendations
- Administration of Atlas tasks, entry of new binders on DCOM and monitoring data on DDM
- Co - ordinate between Delegated Underwriting and Finance, Claims and Compliance
- Assist in the production of reports and MI management information for internal meetings
- Assist the DU manager in the delivery of DUW, delegated authority oversight strategy
- Provide the business with delegated authority related support

**Personal Specification**:

- Educated to A level standard or equivalent, GCSEs including Maths and English, Grade C or above
- Have started or desire to start to work towards insurance qualifications
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (or similar) programs, particularly Word and Excel
- An understanding of Lloyd's requirements for delegated underwriting arrangements
- Working knowledge of the structure and content of binding authority, lineslip and consortium agreements
- Prior use of Lloyd's systems including Atlas, BAR (DCOM) DAM, DDM, Crystal and Risk Locator,
- Communication: good interpersonal and written skills that enable the individual to build trust with senior members of managed syndicates, coverholders and brokers
- Effective organisational skills and a proactive outlook in setting and prioritising work and meeting deadlines
- Flexibility: A sense of perspective and commercial awareness
- Able to work unsupervised, the role assumes a degree of autonomy
- Good level of numeracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work as an effective team member or as an individual, as circumstances dictate.
