Activities Coordinators at Alexandra Rose Residential Care Home make a real and positive impact to the lives of older people who have a range of care needs as well as life experiences and personalities that makes every day varied and interesting. Alexandra Rose Care Home is situated in Farlington, Portsmouth.
**Main purpose of the job**
To lead and encourage residents to join in meaningful activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice and dignity, to enable them to lead as full and active life as possible.
To create a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events, inside and outside of the home, for residents to enjoy.
To work with each new resident to understand their likes/dislikes, abilities and needs to put together an individual social care plan and to evaluate regularly.
To engage the local community into the daily lives of residents by initiating contact with local community groups enabling residents to partake / continue with hobbies and interests as desired.
**The Role**
**WE ARE RECRUITING FOR 1 PART TIME AND 1 FULL TIME POSITION.**
**Part time**. Working set shifts over a 2 week rolling rota. Working 21 hours per week. 10am - 5pm. Working 3 shifts per week and will include working an alternate Saturday/ Sunday.
Full time role. Working 36 hours per week. Working 5 shifts per week and will include working alternate weekends.
As Activities Coordinator you will have the following skills and attributes:
Essential:
- Genuine interest in working within a caring environment and elderly sector
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Team Player Willingness to participate in vocational training programmes
- Satisfactory police check and check against the ISA list (where applicable)
