Summary Of Main Responsibilities
- To open, date stamp and distribute all incoming mail.
- To scan or input information from patient's hospital reports, letters etc into the computer within strict time frames (usually 24 hours)
- Read coding the information into the practice clinical system. Add any additional information about the source of the document.
- Co-ordinate the movement of those documents around the practice, ensuring they are passed to relevant people.
- Complete any tasks resulting from those documents (eg send letters to patients, add problem headings on patient notes)
- Store and destroy documents in line with practice procedures
- Collect electronically and process test results within guidelines
- Co-ordinate the path of the results within the practice eg making sure that they are seen by the appropriate people at the appropriate time
- Ensure that all test results have the correct actions/notes added
- Complete any tasks resulting from the results (eg send letters to patients, arrange for a repeat test)
- To process clinically relevant information supplied by external sources
- Ensuring that mail (incoming and outgoing), photocopying and filing are efficiently undertaken.
- To process and co-ordinate requests for information from outside sources eg insurance forms and solicitors requests.
- To retrieve patients notes when required eg for insurance forms, results etc.
- Ensuring the scanning and dispatching of insurance reports is promptly undertaken
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
