**Housing Services Cleaner**Job description**
An independent mental health charity operating in North Kent is looking for a Housing Services Cleaner.
The Housing Services Cleaner will be supervised and managed by the Senior Housing Management Worker and be accountable to the Board of Trustees.
The Housing Services Cleaner will be based at The Almshouses, West Hill, Dartford, but travel to other sites, for which travel expenses are payable
**Duties of the Housing Services Cleaner**:

**DUTIES OF THE POST:GENERAL**:

- To participate in supervision and appraisal
- To attend Staff Meetings and service team meetings
- attend training/meetings and some annual events as required
- To undertake any other duties which the CEO or Board of Trustees may, from time to time, reasonably delegate or assign

**Duties of The Housing Services Cleaner: SPECIFIC**:

- Provide general cleaning services across their Supported Housing Schemes Service (x5 Properties: Dartford, Northfleet, x2 Gravesham & Swanley). Following a weekly cleaning rota/ calendar (Outlook Calendar).
- Use Lone Working System (Look Out Call) when working on your own.
- General cleaning of communal areas in all properties (activities rooms, living rooms, corridors, staff toilets, indoors windrows, woodwork, etc.)
- Other cleaning duties as required (for example; after a property has been refurbished in-between tenancies)
- Property Windows cleaning.
- Deep cleaning of VOID flats.
- Deep cleaning service tenants’ flats. Complete cleaning assessment of the individual property, support Housing Manager to quote the service and arrange appointments with tenants, support workers and manager to complete deep cleaning service.
- Support maintenance worker clearing VOID flats when need (for example: moving bulks, bringing in new equipment, putting furniture together, etc.)
- Work closely with admin team (finance & maintenance Administrators) to ensure cleaning checklists, COSHH Risk Assessments, Flushing Waters and other H&S procedures are completed regularly, accurately, kept up to date and stored electronically.
- Attend supervision, appraisals
- Attend weekly or monthly meetings with other staff members
- Engage with tenants at a professional level and being aware of professional boundaries.
- Report tenants’ behaviours and observations to Support Staff Team, Housing Manager and Line Manager.
- Assist auditing cleaning assets, equipment, materials and tools. Liaise with line manager to arrange orders and manage cleaning stock in all properties effectively.
- Report any maintenance issues observed (indoors or outdoors) to team (Senior, Housing Manager, Maintenance Worker and Gardener Worker).

**Essential Skills**:

- Awareness, knowledge and understanding of cleaning jobs/ duties/ tasks (cleaning standards, materials, tools, equipment, COSHH, etc.)
- Ability to complete cleaning jobs up to high cleaning standards
- Knowledge & ability to complete accurate H&S checks, COSHH checks, flushing waters and cleaning checklists
- A non-judgemental attitude to mental health service users
- An empowering and positive attitude to mental health service users
- Ability to work within a team
- Good written skills
- Excellent communication skills
