Cashier

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs, offer product recommendations, and provide detailed information about our convenience store products.
- Maintain a tidy and organized sales floor, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and products are attractively displayed.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
- Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, industry trends, and regulations related to convenience store items.
- Utilise social media platforms to promote our store, interact with customers, and share relevant updates about new products or special offers.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the store.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all health and safety guidelines.

**Requirements**:

- Previous retail experience, preferably in a convenience store or related industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage customers in a friendly and informative manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with customers and providing outstanding service.
- A chatty and engaging personality that creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and experience using them to promote products or engage with customers.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Knowledge of convenience store products, including groceries, snacks, beverages, personal care items, and related industry trends is desirable.
- A passion for the retail industry and a genuine interest in assisting customers with their needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and handle a variety of responsibilities efficiently.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings as per the store's schedule.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: £10.42-£12.41 per hour
