**The role
**This role is based at Eagle House Mitcham
Eagle House School provides outstanding schooling for Autistic young people with a range of complex educational needs. We like to foster a safe, supportive environment where children can grow in confidence and thrive. Each young person’s set of needs requiresa unique approach. Our teachers are there to channel their individual capabilities into academic success, as part of a holistic and uniquely attentive educational strategy - and all of this from a setting that is truly inspiring to both pupils and teachers.
Working under the direct supervision of the onsite Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist you’ll support in the gathering of information for high quality assessments and in the running of one to one and small group interventions. As yourconfidence and knowledge grows, you will also have the opportunity to be involved in the delivery of training to school staff. You will work to deliver the best results for the children and young people who live and learn with us. Working as part of the teamaround the child, you’ll liaise with parents, carers, colleagues and partner agencies to support the best outcomes for our children and young people. Some of our children and young people may exhibit very challenging behaviour, so resilience and empathy willbe key.
**Your profile
With at least 5 GCSEs (including English), you’ll have worked with children and young people with SEMH and/or SEN in similar or other roles. With this background, you’ll know all about safeguarding rules and practice.
Crucially, you share the Witherslack ethos of offering the very highest standards of care to deliver the best outcomes for young people in all our homes and schools.
As the role is school based, you will work term-time only from Monday to Friday (37 hour week).
